Seeking a unique opportunity? Join the only Microbiology laboratory in the Canadian Territories. We currently have an opportunity for a full-time Medical Lab Technologist 1, Microbiology located in Yellowknife, NT.
This position is eligible for a Labour market supplement of $10,000.00.

Key Responsibilities
-Provide laboratory medicine expertise for the Microbiology section of the Stanton Territorial Hospital Laboratory.
– Prepare information about general microbiology and the intricacies of infectious diseases, and performing investigative, scientific analysis.
– Examines a variety of biological and environmental samples using standard microbiology procedure to ensure that medical and non-medical professionals have the test results necessary to diagnose, treat and manage disease and address public health issues.
– Supply in-hospital and territorial referral services to several medical laboratories throughout the Northwest Territories and the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut.
Key Qualifications and Skills
– A recognized Medical Laboratory Technology Program at minimum of a diploma or degree level from an accredited Canadian Post-Secondary Institution.
– New graduates waiting to write their certification examination will be considered; however, registration must be achieved prior to beginning employment with Laboratory Services.
– Candidates must be certified as a Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist in Canada and be a member in good standing with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
